Have a go pottery taster 10th May 2025

Ever wanted to have a go on a potters wheel? Come along to Aby Ceramics workshop . £25 per person, for a one hour have a go at pottery session.

After a  short demonstration , you will have a go at creating your own pot. There will be 2 potters wheels. At the end of the 1 hour session you will choose upto 3 favourite pots, and select a glaze. Alan will then take your pot away to be kiln fired and glazed, for collection in about 4 weeks.

  • Terms & Conditions

    • Each 60min session includes the use of tools and materials supplied and the glazing of pots and firing.
    • Health and Safety are very important, the clay and materials used are safe in “plastic’ or wet form, and after firing. However clay powder can be harmful, so guests should not eat or drink at the worktable, and should wash their hands before leaving the pottery workshop or eating. A risk assessment has been completed and can be viewed upon request.
    • You should wear an old shirt or apron to protect their clothes. Any clothes contaminated with clay or underglaze should be washed to avoid clay dust. If in any doubt do please ask.
    • My wife & I are both DBS cleared; and I have third party insurance as a pottery tutor through The Craft Potters Association.
    • Pottery takes a few weeks to dry, be fired, glazed and refired. I will endeavour to have work available for collection the following month, either from the next workshop or from my home. However this may not always be possible. Finished pots can be posted, for an additional charge, upon request
    • Please make sure to let us have a contact phone number and the name and email of the people booed for. If booked for children, please advise age and contact details of parent/guardian.
    • Accidents can happen during the firing process, if your work  is damaged beyond repair I will offer a £5 refund.
    • Cancellations by attendees will only be refunded or changed to another date if notice is given in writing or by email at least 7 working days before the session is due to take place.
    • If a Class  or other event is cancelled by Aby Pottery you will be offered an alternative date or, if this is not acceptable, a full refund.
    • We reserve the right to change the venue, timing or date of the Class in order to provide a high quality service or where it is necessary for reasons beyond our control.
    • We reserve the right to cancel if insufficient bookings have been received for any Class and will give as much notice of this as possible. Occasionally scheduled teaching may be cancelled at short notice because of factors outside our control, such as weather or illness. In this case an alternative will be offered if this is possible; if not a refund or credit offered.
